Plymouth Mass. Memories Road Show Photos

Mass. Memories Road Show at the Plymouth Public Library

Now a part of Massachusetts history!  Thank you to everyone who contributed family photos to the Mass. Memories Road Show, a state-wide digital archive based at UMass Boston, which set up shop at the Plymouth Public Library on November 9, 2019.

All current and former residents of Plymouth were invited to bring up to three photos that represented themselves, their families and/or their community, whether very recent or from generations ago.  All sorts of photos were brought to be scanned:  family reunions, special occasions, snapshots, candids, weddings, military service, etc.   A great crew of Mass. Memories Road Show volunteers were on hand in the Meeting Room to assist contributors. The photos, scanned onsite with the originals immediately returned to their owners, are now part of the permanent Mass. Memories digital archive and are all available to view at http://bit.ly/PplmaRS.

Individuals were also able to be filmed telling a brief story about their photos on camera - watch the videos below and view more by following this link.

The event was produced in cooperation with Plymouth County Convention & Visitors Bureau, www.SeePlymouth.com, and the Plymouth County Commissioners.   The Project Partners were:  Plymouth Public Library, Pilgrim Hall Museum, Plymouth Antiquarian Society, Plymouth 400, Town of Plymouth Archivist, Destination Plymouth, and PACTV.

The Mass. Memories Road Show is produced by the University Archives & Special Collections Department at the Joseph P. Healey Library, UMass Boston, and is co-sponsored by the Patricia C. Flaherty '81 Endowed Fund.
