Please circle your calendar and plan to join us on Wednesday, December 6 at 7:00 PM when educator Jackie Winokur, a member of the No Place for Hate Committee, will lead an interactive workshop for parents and adult family members who read to and with children. She will explore outstanding children’s picture books which address social justice issues and which reflect the history and culture of diverse audiences.
Families will receive a bibliography of recommended titles. Many of these extraordinary picture books are appropriate for children from pre-school through middle school as well as appropriate for high school level discussions. The program will provide the presentation, then group discussion and shared experiences at the conclusion.
Child care will be provided in the Children’s room during the program.
