Live a Longer Life by Falling Less

Did you know that 1 out of 4 Americans over the age of 65 experiences a fall each year and that falling is a leading cause of fatal injury? At the same time, it is most important not to let the fear of falling rule your life. Fall related injuries can be very preventable. Research shows that several risk factors that increase the likelihood of a fall, including side effects of medication, limb coordination, tripping hazards within the home, and lack of physical activity, can often be modified. Exercise is especially important as it increases balance, coordination and flexibility.

To learn more and to find out what you need to do to prevent falls, come join Dr. Jason Grimard of Koenig Family Chiropractic, who will be at the Library on Thursday, October 17th at 11:00.
