PPL Chess Club Tournament – Open to Players of All Ages & Levels

This May, the Chess Club will host a fun tournament open to players of all ages and experience.

The tournament will be held Tuesday, May 21st and Tuesday, May 28 at 6:15 p.m. There will be two divisions, Beginner and Experienced. The format is game 20 minutes (each player gets 20 minutes to complete the game) and there will be two games per night. Entrants can play one or both nights. Jim Pritchard will be directing the tournament.

Please register in advance with Bill Petrillo, 774-766-7689 by May 18th. There is no entry fee to participate in this tournament.

The Chess Club meets in the Nook Road Rooms every Tuesday night from 6 p.m. – 8 PM – all are welcome to join us and see what the Chess Club is all about!  Feel free to stop by the Reference Desk with any questions.

Bill Petrillo is an experienced chess instructor and has taught and led chess educational programs around the country for USA Chess and at various Massachusetts schools and libraries. He has hosted several chess programs at the library and inspired the establishment of the PPL Chess Club.
