Do You Love Your Library Network? Tell Us!

Your Plymouth Public Library card gives you immediate access to the many shared resources of the Old Colony Library Network, as well as other networks across the state.  This month, OCLN’s Wired to Reach You campaign is highlighting the many services library cardholders enjoy and asking you to visit http://links.ocln.org/wired with your comments, which will be shared with state legislators.

The more information legislators have about how much residents value their networks, the better.  Last year, OCLN libraries circulated 4,499,679 physical items.  Your Plymouth Public Library card gives you access to 53 million items statewide.

In the past five years alone, eBook downloads have increased by 210%.  But, although technology has a changed a lot in the past twenty years, what hasn’t changed is state funding to support library technology and library networks. In fact, this funding is 36% lower than it was in 2001. This funding is critical in keeping networks wired to reach you.

Your opinion matters!  OCLN will help to make sure that your elected representatives know that you value your Library – submit your comments here today.
