Celebrate National Novel Writing Month At Plymouth Public Libraries!

View Our Flyer

National Novel Writing Month is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that believes all stories matter. Each year, writers sign up to pen 50,000 words in the month of November, with pep talks and tips from published authors and lists of local places participating in write-in events. Register now at www.nanowrimo.org to take part in this program! All library events are free and you don’t need to register with the library to attend.

Stop in to write at the Plymouth Public Library or the Manomet Branch Library and join us at the many activities we have planned:

  • Get Ready for NaNoWriMo2017
Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 6:00-7:30 Main Library, Board Room
At this gathering we will brainstorm plots and bounce ideas off each other to get ready for National Novel Writing Month. We will come prepared with tips for reaching your goals. If you have a novel inside you, now is the perfect time to set pen to paper and we can help! We’re all in this together
  • NaNoWriMo2017 Kickoff!
    Wednesday, November 1, 2017, 6:00-7:30
    Main Library, Nook Road Rooms
Time to get to work! At this initial meeting, we will plug away at our word counts! Bring a laptop or a pad of paper. The library is the perfect place to write. We will have resources available to help you tackle the most difficult part of your story: the beginning!
  • NaNoWriMo2017: Halfway There Gathering
    Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 6:00-7:30
    Main Library, Nook Road Rooms
We’re halfway through National Novel Writing Month! Are you where you thought you would be? Smooth sailing? Or are you encountering any troubles or blocks? We can help! We will discuss any roadblocks you may be facing and try to help you come up with solutions. You will also have time to work on your manuscript.
  • NaNoWriMo2017:
    Potluck Celebration!
    Thursday, November 30, 2017, 6:00-7:30
    Manomet Branch Library
You made it! Let’s celebrate! We’ll serve up some dishes while discussing our month of novel writing. We’ll have resources and advice for editing and revision available for all our authors. Join us as we celebrate you and your accomplishment.

Young Writer’s Program

This year, National Novel Writing Month isn’t just for adults! Join us at the Main Library for three November events geared toward young writers ages 8 and up in the Children’s Room. We will be hosting write-ins where participants can set their own writing goals, complete fun activities, and hang out in the company of other young writers!
