If Walls Could – Spooky Movies

As part of our month long participation in "If Walls Could...", a collaboration with the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, Quincy College and the Plymouth Public Library celebrating the literature of the supernatural, we will be screening some spooky movies during the month of October! Come enjoy these classics with us as we move into the Halloween season.  All films start at 6:00 PM in the Otto Fehlow Meeting Room.  Light refreshments will be served.

October 10th - The Innocents (1961) - Not Rated - 1 hour, 40 minutes
In this adaptation of Henry James' classic novella The Turn of the Screw, 19th century British governess Miss Giddens (Deborah Kerr) arrives at a bleak mansion to take care of Flora (Pamela Franklin) and Miles (Martin Stephens), the wealthy household's two children. Outwardly the children are little darlings, but the governess begins to feel that there's something unwholesome behind those beatific smiles.

October 17 - Poltergeist (1982) - PG - 1 hour, 54 minutes
The film centers on the Freeling family, a typical middle class family. The father, Steve (Craig T. Nelson), has fallen asleep in front of the television, and the dog saunters around the house revealing the other family members -- Steve's wife Diane (JoBeth Williams), sixteen-year-old daughter Dana (Dominique Dunne), eight-year-old son Robbie (Oliver Robins), and five-year-old Carol Ann (Heather O'Rourke). Soon very strange things begin to happen around the house...

When Eleanor (Lili Taylor), Theo (Catherine Zeta Jones), and Luke (Owen Wilson) decide to take part in a sleep study at a huge mansion, they get more than they bargained for when Dr. Marrow (Liam Neeson) tells them of the house's ghostly past.
