The Junior Friends was originally founded to attract young people into the library, and to provide community service hours. It has developed into a vibrant group of young adults, ages 11 - 18, whom activally support the library through volunteering, fundraising, and sponsoring programs aimed at involving youth in the library.

The Junior Friends plan and put on four events during the school year for children and/or teens to have
fun at the library. Past events have included CSI at the Library, Cupid's Confection's Challenge and
Jack-o-lantern Jamboree. The groups also helps out with the library's book sales and Youth Services
programs.

The Junior Friends meet regularly one Wednesday night per month, from September to June. The
meetings last for an hour and we discuss ongoing and upcoming events, as well as any improvements
we can make. Contact the Manomet Branch Librarian at 508-830-4185 or email her at
jenniferj@ocln.org for the next meeting date and more details.
