RAIN OR SHINE
Join us as we host the Department of Public Works for our 12th Annual DPW Day. On DPW Day the Library’s parking lot turns into a “playground” for big trucks, featuring an assortment of public works equipment. Join us for a chance to see these trucks up close, climb aboard many for a turn behind the wheel and talk to the men and women responsible for keeping our Town safe. The Library’s Otto Fehlow Meeting Room will feature individual department contributions, such as maps and materials that are important to the infrastructure of the Town of Plymouth - roads, bridges, signals, mapping, the beaches, and many others. Plymouth’s DPW is composed of the engineering, highway, parks, water, sewer, cemetery, and environmental management departments. The men and women of the DPW are responsible for the 102 miles of roadways in Plymouth, along with our public water supply, wastewater collection and treatment system, parks and cemeteries.
This program is free and open to everyone in the community. We celebrate this annual event with popcorn, ice cream, and lots of fun. This program will be held rain or shine. No registration is necessary. For more information, please call the Youth Services Department at (508) 830-4250 x210. The Library is fully accessible; please let us know if you need special accommodation to attend.
