The Teens Advisory Group and the Tweens Interest Group meet on the first Wednesday of each month in the board room at the Main Library. Anyone between the ages of 9 and 18 who is interested is invited; no registration is necessary. If you want to have a voice in the services and programs the library offers for teens and tweens, stop by! At this meetings, we plan upcoming events and we usually have crafts or a project of some kind. Plus snacks!
Even if you can’t attend our meetings, we can always find a way for you to be involved!
The Teen Advisory Group/Tween Interest Group (TAG/TWIG) (originally called the “Junior Friends”) was initially founded to bring young people into the library, give teens a voice in the library, and to provide community service hours. TAG/TWIG provides vital assistance with library events, including the books sales in summer and winter, the Story Book Breakfast, children’s programs and so much more. Teens and tweens might help out by wearing character costumes, setting up events, serving book sale customers, and assisting with children’s craft programs. Library staff keeps track of hours so students can get credit for hours served with any organization which requires volunteering.
