PPL Classics Book Club

Copies are now available at the Circulation Desk of Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, which we will discuss at the PPL Classics Book Club on Monday, September 11 at 7:00 PM in the Board Room. Everyone is welcome to join us for an in-depth consideration of this important piece of work that swept the world. (Read more about this title here). The book talk will be led by Georgina Chanatry and Library Director, Jennifer Harris.

George Orwell fought against Franco in the Spanish Civil War which politicized his writings from that experience. He is most famous for Animal Farm (1945) and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949), a book that continues to resonate with readers today. Remember ~ “Big Brother is watching you.”
