Is The Great Gatsby THE Great American Novel?

Library Director Jennifer Harris kicks off American authors discussion series

Writing about The Great Gatsby in 1925, the New York Times reviewer remarked that "Fitzgerald discloses in these people a meanness of spirit, carelessness and absence of loyalties ... It is a curious book, a mystical, glamourous story of today." How relevant is it in 2017?  Come tell us what you think!

Join us for the second in our discussion series on classic American authors. We will next meet on Monday evening, February 27th at 7:00 PM in the boardroom at the Main Library for a book talk led by Library Director Jennifer Harris.  Copies of The Great Gatsby are now available at the circulation desk.  All are welcome!
